Alright Instapaper, it’s your turn, don’t let us down.
In all honesty, I consider this sort of stuff more fanboy lore than reality. The reality was that iWeb helped a lot of consumers find their way to user-friendly web publishing on the desktop. In the long run, I think that probably helped all the indie web publishing apps more than it hurt.
Still, I’ve spent quite a few keynotes, palms sweating, fingers-crossed, hoping, and praying that the next release of iWeb wouldn’t be our demise. That we had worked hard enough, long enough, to fend off this year’s iWeb update. There were times when I was sure we were goners, just another bump in the road of iLife’s history. So I can’t help but feel a tiny bit proud that maybe Stacks was a piece of the sling that helped *slay Goliath in this skirmish.
*OK, maybe just scared Goliath away until he comes riding back on a giant iCloud in a few days, but I’ll take what I can get.
